mixing diagram

We not only play and record and mix music here, we sometimes have discussions about mixing philosophy. This particular discussion required the use of diagrams.
In the center is a drawing of mix philosophy #1. To the right is mp #2, and to the left, torn from the others, is the Steam Powered philosophy, #3, which takes into account eyes and hair.

It's a concert tonight in Robert Bobby's Basement

HOUSE CONCERT at Robert Bobby's Basement on Saturday March 19th -doors open at 7 PM for a 7:30 start.
We are pleased to host The Stray Birds featuring Maya De Vitry on vocals, fiddle & banjo and Oliver Craven on vocals & guitar and Charles Muench on bass. A fresh approach on an old timey sound a la Gillian Welch & Diana Jones. This show has my Robert Bobby seal of approval. We are looking forward to a very special night of music which will kick off with a short set by The Robert Bobby Trio. A suggested donation of $10 for this show. Let me know if you plan on coming by emailing me at
BYOB. If you haven't been to one of our house concerts yet, this would be a good one to try. Again, email me to reserve your space & for directions etc.

I think you can still catch a seat... e-mail the Bobby.

How about a new featured song? The Joe Ellis project goes back to 2004, 2005, and 2006. There was a lot of location recording done at various places, and a lot of careful listening. League of Consumers was the first song of the project that I felt I "got" as a piece of music. Hope it works for you as well.

I saw this guy's ad in Craig's List and was intrigued. What kind of a goofy name is Viking Camel?

Just brilliant, actually, for teh google...

Some free music and "life in a recording studio" videos available on his site.

I like the diffusers in the vocal booth. They remind me of home...
