![]() Four tracks on cassette tape? Sure! I spent a lot of time with this machine up on the third floor on Maple Avenue. ![]() I managed to piece together a couple of musical themes concerning events from the early 1960's. I was a dumb kid in the early 1960's and didn't understand how someone named John could be Jack to everyone- not knowing that Jack implied a certain amount of swag not afforded to plain old Johns. There was a song in it. And also a video: ![]() Everyone Called Him Jack (video) Everyone Called Him Jack Sitting in a quiet bar Waiting for the night to fall Could be anywhere at all See his picture on the wall Everyone called him Jack And Everyone wants him back And everyone says he had the knack The owner brings a Stoli 'round Says "Yeah, that's me and him in '61 Didn't we have fun When we put that Rooskie down!" Everyone called him Jack And everyone wants him back And everyone says he had the knack So what have all our heroes done That they end up cast away On that island in the sun? Well maybe they'll come home one day There's a face up in the sky And it's always been the same Stick a ruby in its eye Now we've given it a name Everyone called him Jack And everyone wants him back And everyone says he had the knack Everyone called him Jack Everyone called him Jack Everyone called him Jack |
